OUR FOUNDING PASTORS | TIM & NIKI LOCHENS.
Tim and Niki love God and love His church. They have been investing into local churches since they were teenagers, serving Jesus. Tim has served at CFC Seaton over many years, leading in various roles, including Youth & Young Adults Pastor, Associate Pastor and also is a member of CFC Churches Board of Elders.
Niki has served in various roles within the church, including worship teams, creative arts academy and community outreach. She has also flourished as a professional violinist and ministered to many people through her gift of music.
While sipping coffee at McCafe (post Bible College lectures), a young Tim and Niki would share with one another their individual dreams of one day planting a church. God gave them a shared vision for a significant church, even before they officially started dating! This united vision - for many people to encounter Jesus' presence, become family and share about Him in their every day lives - was birthed in the hearts of two teenagers, way back then.
Over 15 years later, God moved on Tim and Niki's hearts, to step out with their three gorgeous children, Amarie, Josiah, Jude (whose family has since grown to four, with sweet Leni’s arrival) and a wonderful team, to establish CFC South.
First gathering in Hallett Cove Civic Centre, then Reynella Primary School for a number of years and now meeting at our current venue, at 130 Pimpala Rd, Morphett Vale, since 2018 the good news message of Jesus - a message for all people and a message that brings freedom, love and hope - has rung out from CFC South: lives have been transformed and many have received the help and hope Christ offers, as He continues to lead and build our CFC South family.
As founding Lead Pastor, Tim’s preaching/teaching gift, warmth, wisdom and kindness has indelibly shaped our church family as we seek to walk in Jesus’ ways.
We are incredibly grateful for both Ps Tim and Niki’s leadership investment, sacrificial service and wonderful ministry and pastoral gifts, sown into CFC South for 6+ years. They have demonstrated a genuine desire to see people grow in every aspect of life as we each encounter God’s love, belong in his family and share in his mission.
In preparation for the next season Jesus has planned for him and his family, Ps Tim officially finished up in his role at CFC South in February 2024.
Our South Leadership Team - including Ministry Team Leader, Claire Henning, with Craig Davidson and Ps David Bland, and CFC South’s Overseeing Pastor, Cass Tompich - particularly want to honour and thank the Lochens’ family: their work energised by faith, their service motivated by love and their hope-fueled commitment to planting and establishing CFC South, will continue to bear lasting fruit.
